The #38 Legend Car:
Chassis: 1998 2-bar 600 Racing
Make: 1937 Ford Sedan
Engine: 1200cc HSR Yamaha Motor Cycle engine to 600 Racing Specs.
Tires: BF Goodrich 600 Racing Legend Tires

The legend car is owned by Mike Bryant of Windham. Mike traded his boat to Wayne Kenniston in September of 2008 for the car. Mike hired Bobby as the driver for the final NELCAR race of 2008, and for the entire 2009 season. Timmons Racing combined with Bryant Racing had a strong rookie outing at the Unity Speedway on September 5th. Bobby had a good run finishing 7th, and is looking strong headed into the 2009 season.

Legend cars are small, old style coupes and sedans that race across the country. Everything on these cars are made spec by 600 Racing, a company owned by Bruton Smith. In northern New England, legends race the Northeast Legend Car tour, also known as NELCAR. This tour races at Beech Ridge, Wisscasset Raceway, Unity Raceway, Speedway 95, Monadnock Speedway, and Lee USA Speedway. Legends also race weekly at the Water ford Speedbowl in Waterford, Connecticut.

The #7 Small Block Super Modified:
Chassis: 1993 Timmons Fab. Chassis
Engine: 358 Chevy ZZ4 Small Block Crate Motor sealed by Butler McMaster
Tires: 10" Hoosier Racing Slick provided by Lee USA Speedway

Bobby’s father built this chassis as a big block car. Bobby JR has decided to convert this car to a small block super to race weekly at the Lee USA Speedway. Bobby JR will test and tune the car for the first few weeks to make sure the car is drive-able for Bobby III. The only feature win this chassis has is at Lee. Timmons Racing is looking forward to a strong rookie campaign and maybe even a few top 10 runs for Bobby III in 2009.

For those who don’t know much about supers, they are arguably the most unique racecars in the country. They are all open wheeled. Have an 18" offset, which means the centerline of the cockpit is 18" from the centerline of the wheelbase. The cockpit is just wide enough to fit the driver and seat. These radical machines have a big, hydraulically suspended wing that moves up and down for downforce. The motor is offset to the left of the driver’s legs. These cars are direct-drive, which means the driveshaft is directly connected from the motor to the rear-end, which is also offset to the left. There is no transmission like seen in most stock cars. The fuel cell is located behind the driver’s seat. These machines are extremely unique and extremely fast. If you have a chance to watch them, I wouldn’t pass it up if I were you. Small Blocks can be seen at the Lee USA Speedway in Lee NH, or at All Star Speedway in Epping NH. Big block supers can be seen in the Northeast, Mid West, and West Coast. The ISMA tour runs New England, New York, and the Mid West. The MSA Tour runs in the Mid West Region. The WSSRL runs at tracks along the West Coast. Un-winged Super Modifieds can be seen in up-state New York, where they race weekly at the Oswego Speedway, in Oswego New York.
